Overgrown beds have a way of creeping up on you. One season the shrubs are manageable, the next they're spilling over the walkway and the whole front of the house starts to look a little rough around the edges. That's exactly where this one was headed.

We came in and did a full bed cleanup first - getting rid of the overgrowth, cleaning up the edges, and pulling things back so the plants actually had shape and definition again. Good pruning work isn't just about cutting things down. It's about giving each plant room to breathe and making sure the whole bed reads as intentional rather than just wild.

Once the cleanup was done, we laid fresh dark mulch throughout the entire bed. That's the part that really ties everything together. The dark color pops against the brick, frames the walkway cleanly, and gives the whole front of the home that sharp, finished look. It also helps keep weeds down and holds moisture in - so it's doing real work, not just looking good.

The before and after difference here is hard to miss. Same plants, same layout, same walkway - but the whole front of the house looks like someone actually takes care of it. That matters whether you're a homeowner who just wants to enjoy where you live, or someone thinking about curb appeal down the road.

This kind of work - bed cleanup, trimming, and a fresh layer of mulch - is honestly one of the highest-impact things you can do for the front of your home without a major overhaul. Simple work done right goes a long way.
